as managing producer & reporter for the west coast, susan garell created over 50 news segments from 2001-2004 on cutting edge young companies for business now, aired on abc affiliates including new york, dc, boston, and san francisco.

 

prior to becoming a business news professional, susan was an equity analyst in the investment management industry. more recently, susan has been active in the non-profit world as president of the lamorinda arts council from 2010-2015 and an ambassador for the orinda chamber of commerce, for which she was recognized as volunteer of the year for 2016.  she was named orinda citizen of the year in 2014.

 

susan earned her undergraduate degree from UC berkeley and an MBA from Harvard University. she is also a graduate of the american conservatory theatre summer training program in dramatic arts and has completed private training in digital editing, as well as studies in filmmaking at dvc.
